Happy Birthday, McKenzie!

McKenzie is the big 2-0 today!  It is hard to believe that I have a child that is grown!  She has been such a blessing to our family.  I cannot imagine life without her. 

This past year has been a hard one for our family and especially for McKenzie.  She has gone through a lot, but we have seen tremendous spiritual growth in her.  She has learned that people and circumstances change but that HER Lord is a constant in her life.

 McKenzie has a lot of good qualities, one of which is her heart to serve.  She helps out at home with her younger siblings a lot!  She has had to help over the past few years because of her grandma's failing health and now we have the care of my dad.  It would be easy for her to look at the life that most girls her age are living, but instead she knows that serving is where God has her right now.  Not only does she help a lot with her grandpa, but she chooses to go volunteer weekly at a local assisted living home.  The stories she comes home with and tells about how the Lord is blessing her by being willing to be used by Him are precious!

 

McKenzie,  I know that the Lord has a wonderful plan for your life.  It is exciting to watch you grow into the woman He wants you to be, and I look forward to seeing Him work in your life in the coming year!
