Susannah Wesley's

advice to her children:

Whenever you need to judge whether the pleasure you seek is right or wrong, take this rule:

Whatever weakens your reason, impairs the tenderness of your conscience, obscures your sense of God: or takes off the relish of spiritual things: in short,

Whatever increases the strength and authority of the physical over the spiritual......

that thing is Sin to you, however innocent it may be in itself.

Date night with daddy

Marc took Mariah out this evening. When she called to let me know they were on their way home she said, "When we left Chick Fil A daddy took me to Goodys. He let me try on perfume and high heels. They weren't inappropriate, they were just like "wow". When I walked on the floor they went "click, click, click." Marc told me that when they were driving home she said, "Mama never lets me do that kind of stuff!" :o) I am grateful for a man that takes the time to build special memories with each of his children.

Laughs with Mariah and other things...

Mariah left these "flowers" on my pillow the other night. My nose clogged up the minute I laid my head on my pillow. haha..jk

Mariah is such a funny little girl and she doesn't want to be. I try to write the things down so I don't forget them, but most of the time I get too busy and then I do forget. She asked me today why she had to be the funny one. I told her that God knew I needed to laugh and that is why He gave her to me. :o)

The other day McKenzie was fixing lunch and Mariah said, "I want 2 peckles of lettuce." We all laughed and she said, "Excuse my French." I asked her what a "peckle of lettuce" was and she said, "Ya'll just don't understand my terminology."

She got upset about something the other day and said, "That just perked my feathers!"

Today we had a repairman come to our house. He showed up two hours early! I was in my yoga pants, sweatshirt and a ponytail. The man started noticing all of the kids and said, "Wow, you have children everywhere." When he left Mariah said, "I bet he was really surprised that you have so many children AND you looked so awful too." Mariah is brutally honest! :o)

Myles thought these glasses were so funny.

Last week we had paper hearts, markers and glitter all over the house.

It is so sweet when Myles climbs into McKenzie's lap to hear her play.

I bet there aren't many people that have a horse come up to their back porch every morning to get a treat. He is our oldest horse and he roams the yard like a dog.

Off to bed...

Wednesday night ramblings...

I am sitting here late Wednesday evening waiting on Marc, McKenzie and Matthew to get home. Marc had a business trip in New Orleans and he took the oldest two with him. It was Matthew's first time flying and he loved it!
Their trip started off with a bang. They drove two hours and spent the night near the airport they were flying out of. The next morning they had to get up early to catch their flight. Marc went to the car to put something in it and someone had broken into it and tore up the steering column and ignition trying to hot wire it. The only thing in the car were muffins that Madeline had made for their breakfast that morning. They stole them! Even though it wasn't funny that it happened, we did get a good laugh about them taking the muffins. Other than that, their trip went well. They said New Orleans is a very wicked city. I am sure McKenzie will blog about it, so I won't give too much away. I think they enjoyed the historical sites but they said it wasn't somewhere they would want to go again. I know Marc enjoyed spending time with the kids.

Here at home everything went pretty smoothly. Madeline and I stayed very busy! She worked hard and Mariah was great to pitch in and help too. I have a new respect for how much work it is to feed and water all of the animals! I will be glad in the morning that Matthew can take over his watering job! We had dental cleaning appointments yesterday. Normally our whole family goes at the same time. I had to reschedule their appointments but I decided for the rest of us to go ahead and go. We all got called back at the same time so I took Myles with me. At first he sat in my lap and watched. Then as he warmed up to the hygienist he started diving towards my face and cracking up laughing at what she was doing. When I couldn't handle him anymore I let him get down. He turned the sink on and started splashing me. He was laughing so hard while he did it. The lady cleaning my teeth kept saying, "He is so cute. I don't know how you ever get onto him." I wanted to pinch his head off! I was SO glad when that appointment was done and I will NEVER take a two year old in with me again. When we left there we went to the park. The weather has been gorgeous and I wanted the little ones to wear themselves out!

The little guys.

Sweet girls.

Mariah runs everywhere she goes. :o)

We took bread to feed to the geese and ducks.

The mallard was beautiful!

I have muffins baking in the oven for when they get here. I thought it was kind of fitting since they didn't get to eat theirs! :o)

Goodnight!
