Dentist

When our family goes to the dentist for our 6 month cleaning, we pretty much take over the office! :)

This cleaning was Mac's first time.  It was quite entertaining.  He had a very sweet and patient hygienist.

Not many offices will stop and read a story to their patient when the patient isn't cooperating!

Our dentist is a fellow home school dad! :)

Happy Birthday, Myles!

Myles Truth turned 7!!!  I am so thankful for this sweet, energetic, funny, smart little boy that keeps me on my toes!

On the morning of his birthday I took him by himself to Cracker Barrel for breakfast.  When you are one of seven children it is rare that you get to pick the restaurant, let alone go by yourself!  What was so sweet was when they put his food on the table he said,  "I sure wish Malachi was here." :)

We had a table full of food and all he wanted was biscuits and jelly!

The highlight of his morning was going into their gift shop and buying a new toy pistol!  We go through a bunch of those around here!

When we got home I told him he could have the day off from school except for a math test.  He said, "Math tests are not for birthdays!"  After his test he helped me make his birthday dessert.  It was extremely rich!  He had fun helping me make it and the kids all loved it.

The little boys always lick the spatulas!

Sweet toothless smile!

That evening we celebrated with family eating the meal that he planned, eating his extremely rich dessert and letting him open his presents.  He was precious. and it is always so sweet to see how grateful they are for what they get.

I love these people!

My prayer for Myles is that he will grow to be a Godly man that will always walk in Truth!

Happy 10th Birthday, Malachi!

Malachi David was born on Wednesday, September 13th, 2006.  He was the much prayed for baby brother for Matthew!

His last night being a single digit! I always get a little sad when my children go to bed the night before their birthday.  Childhood goes by way too fast!

He is at such a great age right now!  He isn't a little kid that needs so much, but he is still sweet and innocent! :)  He was SO hard from 3-4 that it amazes me that he is such an easy boy now!

As always, I let the birthday kid pick out their meal and dessert.  He wanted French dip sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, green beans (and I added a salad!)  For dessert he wanted ice cream pie!  (Can you say rich!) He wanted to help me make it. :)

Ice Cream Pie:

Crush 21 Oreos, 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts and then mix in one stick of butter.  Press into a pie pan and freeze for 15 minutes.

Soften Breyers Natural vanilla ice cream and mix with chopped Reese Cups.  Spread on pie crust and freeze.

You can serve with hot fudge sauce and whipped topping.

Marc has been working really long hours lately.  He surprised Mal and came home early to take him into the woods to shoot.

I spent the afternoon playing games with him.

Sweet little Elizabeth's first birthday party!  She was passed around the whole evening!

So glad my dad is still around to spend these special days with!

The traditional sibling birthday picture!  Added the sweet little niece this year!

                                             The "Big 10"!!!

Love this little fellow!  He looks like he is in a sugar coma! :)

He got tools, fishing gear, Legos and boots for his birthday!  He told me he felt "manly". :)

Malachi has been so much fun to raise.  He is a sweet boy, but not a "touchy feely" kid.  He is funny and very dependable!  He has a regular chore list and I rarely have to prod him to get his things done.  He loves the outdoors, guns, knives and Legos!  His strengths are in math and science.  He was a little slower learning how to read than my other children, but once he took off it has been amazing!  He is often found with a new chapter book in his hands.  He is like a sponge right now and often asks to watch documentaries on various subjects!

My prayer for Malachi is that he would always love the Lord with all of his heart, soul, mind and strength.  I love you Malachi!

"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’This is the first commandment.[And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.” Matthew 12:30-31

Ichitucknee Springs

Back in August we took off for a day of tubing down in Florida.  It is such a beautiful place!  We went there several years ago and have been wanting to go back.

We had to get up at 3 A.M. In order to get the animal chores done and to get there in time to get in the park.

The water is so cold n the springs!

Worth the drive just to have such a relaxing day.

Macheus was my tubing buddy.

Swimming in the springs.

"CHEESE"!

We pretty much had the river to ourselves!

It looks like it would be "snakey", but we have never seen anything other than turtles in the water.

We are already talking about going again next year!
