A Merry Heart

My youngest three children keep me laughing. Yesterday, Myles spilled a little bit of his smoothie on the bench in the kitchen. He was crying hysterically. I didn't say anything to him while I cleaned it up and then when I got finished I picked him up and quietly said, "It is ok Myles, mommy cleaned it up." Mariah looked at me and said, "You amaze me mommy. If that was me with my child I would be fired up!" What was really funny is how quickly she apparently forgot me yelling at Malachi for spilling his smoothie just last week! Something about smoothies and mornings....Last weekend we attended a home school conference. We had promised Malachi that we would buy him a duct tape sword if he would sit still during the conferences. He had gone into the bathroom with Marc and had his sword with him. While in the bathroom there was a little boy that asked to hold Malachi's sword. He handed it to him and then Marc said he immediately had a concerned look on his face and said, "Wait a minute, you didn't wash your hands! You need to wash your hands first!" Marc said the little boys older brother looked mortified and told him to wash his hands. Malachi is going to always speak his mind!

This morning while I was..... making smoothies (we really like smoothies around here! :o) Malachi said, "You are a different kind of mommy. You are the funniest mommy I ever seen." I asked him why and he said, "You call me angel and stuff. I wish you would just call me fireball." Yep, never a dull moment around this house! :o)

McKenzie took some pictures of Mariah for me the other day. I liked this last one because it shows her funny personality.

Our little artists!

Mariah started art lessons this week. She absolutely loved it and told me that it was a lot more fun than her piano lessons. :o)

I heard the water running and something hitting the side of the house. I went out to see what Malachi was doing and he very proudly showed me his muddy hands......

but then I saw the wall. This was his "artwork".

Happy Birthday Madeline Grace!

I cannot believe that our little Madeline is 13 years old! She has been a blessing and joy to our family!

Madeline,

Your gentle and quiet spirit is precious to us and in the sight of God. Don't ever forsake it.

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." 1 Peter 3:4

Love,

Mama and Daddy

A dissection...

McKenzie's senior year in school she took Anatomy & Physiology. The last thing she was supposed to do was dissect a fetal pig. She never got around to it and I have been "reminding" her ever since that she needed to get it done! The other day she finally got it out and made it a family lesson for all of the kids to see.

Malachi has an extremely weak stomach. When our goats give birth he gets so excited but he gags himself to death the whole time he is watching. He is as much fun to watch as the goats! :o) The pig was no exception. He wanted to watch but he was so grossed out. These pictures cracked me up!
