Winter days...

It has been a long, dreary, hard winter.  Not so much because we have had harsh cold days,,,, it has just been extremely wet and dreary.

I recently ordered some non-toxic candles from Antique Candle Co.  (I scored free shipping and bought everything off of the clearance sale!)  I love the warm glow on these dreary days!

I took all of our Valentine decorations down and hated how dreary things looked.  It is still too early/wintery for spring things, but I did pull out a few Easter decorations!  I left the really springy things in the attic until March!
The cool bench is a church bench that our family sat on every Sunday in one of our old churches.  They recently built a new church and asked if we wanted it!

Our foster placement is still here,,,, and we are praying hard that she won't be going anywhere!  It has been physically and emotionally hard!  She has come such a long way though and we are grateful!  I will blog more about that on another day.  It is a school day.... and I need to get busy!

Happy Birthday, Macheus!

Oh, the joy this little boy has brought to our family!  When Myles was born I sort of thought he was the "caboose".  Then when I miscarried a couple of years later I was fairly certain that was it.  So thankful that the Lord blessed us with this boy!

He is such a kind boy.  He loves people BIG!  When we opened up our home to foster children he welcomed them with open arms.  He has made the BEST big brother to our two little nuggets!  He just asked me the other day, "When is court gonna decide on our baby?"  He prayed so faithfully for Matthias to be our forever baby, and now he is praying again!

Madeline asked him what kind of a cake he wanted.  He told her,  "A chocolate cake, white icing, and chocolate balls."  So she made exactly what he wanted!  She is such a sweet big sister!

On his actual birthday our entire family took off for a day of fun at Stone Mountain.

We had a picnic at the grist mill with lots of homemade food!  The kids played by the water, and then we hiked the mountain!

We all made it fairly fast considering we were six little kids!

Macheus told me halfway up the mountain that it was a terrible idea. :)

Matthew wore Matthias in a hiking backpack and beat us all up the mountain! #beast

We had many yucky, rainy days the week before, so we were very thankful for a beautiful day!

                                                      My sweet Myles....

We spent a couple of hours on this cool playground before we loaded up to head home.

My "biggest girl" with her "biggest girl"! :)

Taking a rest on top of the mountain.

Because you need a dramatic shot on top of the mountain! haha...

Such a beautiful spot.  I had picnics here with my family growing up.  We have had MANY picnics here with our children over the years!

Love her... and those two sweet baby girls!

                                                       He made it!

Once upon a time Marc thought we'd only have girls!

                                            My biggest and littlest boys!

My four girls.... even the tiniest sweet little girl!

So thankful that the Lord blessed us with our sweet Macheus Trust!

Our journey continues...

I am going to attempt to get my blog back up to date as best as I can!  It has been a very busy and hard past five months.  I copied what I shared on FB last fall below to update my blog (if I have any readers left! :)  I contemplated being done with my blog, but I have so much fun going back and reading old posts.  I know these years are going to slip by so fast, and I want to remember all of the busy, crazy, sweet, special.... moments!

And our journey continues...
Last week I was leaving the hair salon when my daughter texted, "Call...". When DFCS calls, my heart always falls a little. I guess it always will. The voice on the other end said something like... "You don't have to say yes, but there is a baby that we think y'all would be perfect for. She has no one." My response was... "You guys are going to put us through this AGAIN!?! I don't know if I can do this. Is there not ANYONE that can take her? Have y'all checked ALL family? " And then I said, "Let me call Marc." I called him and without hesitation he said, "Absolutely!" I talked to the children and we all agreed, we felt like we were supposed to do this. Macheus was sitting at the table quietly, and throwing his head back said, "How will we ever take TWO babies to church!?!" That's the least of my worries child 😀.
I remember this time last year being in the thick of court dates. I was completely overwhelmed and said that I was never doing this again. Matthew sent me a song that night with a message that basically said, "If not me than who?" I also said after we adopted Matthias that I was finished with babies, and I happily passed all baby stuff on! We knew we were willing to take more placements, but I pictured young children. 😀
Just like last time there are so many unknowns, exhaustion, fear, and yes, peace. Peace knowing that just like last time God is in control.
Please pray for sweet "Baby A". She has some issues that need much prayer. Specifically pray that her feeding issues would resolve. Pray for Marc and I as we juggle our already busy schedules and now take daily trips to Macon. Pray for our children as this affects them too.
Thank you all for your prayers! She is a little miracle, and I know God has a plan for her life! 💗

Happy Birthday, Mariah!

Happy Birthday to my New Year's Day baby!

Her birthday comes after we are all sick of party food and festivities!  This year Mariah, Madeline and I took off for a girls' day of shopping!

We ate yummy food at Cracker Barrel and shopped most of the day!

That evening we went home and Mariah requested Oreo milkshakes!  A girl after my own heart!  Forget the cake.... bring on the milkshakes!

I cannot imagine life without our "Lucille.... Lou... Lucy... or Lou Mama (as McKenzie calls her!)  She has brought so much joy to our family!  I love you my sweet Lou!

Happy Birthday, Matthew!

Happy Birthday to my New Year's Eve baby!

Wasn't it just a few years ago that I laid cozily in my hospital bed with a tiny baby boy!?!  I don't know where the years have gone, but they went by way too fast!

Matthew has been a joy to raise!  He is loyal, hardworking, honest, sweet... and messy! :)  He can't be perfect, right?  I am so thankful the Lord made him ours!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

My blog has been pretty quiet lately, and there is a really good reason why!   As you will see in our family's Christmas picture there is another little blurred out face.

We had our adoption in July, vacation right after, school started the beginning of August, my dad's health was bad throughout that month, we moved him to be closer to my sister in September, we got a call to take another foster placement the first of September... and THAT is a long story!  Grandbaby born in October in the midst of our chaos, McKenzie and her family finished building and moved into their new home this fall.  Yeah... it has been crazy around here!

It has been a really hard fall, but things are starting to get a little better around here!  For those of you that follow me on social media you have kept up with our journey.  I have been trying to write more in my journals at home, but I am hoping to start writing on here more this coming year. Posting on social media is super easy and fast, but I have missed this little corner to journal our lives.  It was always sort of therapeutic for me.  I have no idea who still pops by here to read... but I am back! :)

I hope you have all had a very Merry Christmas, and that you have a wonderful and healthy New Year!

~Until next time....

Happy Birhday, Myles!

Happy 10th Birthday to our sweet Myles Truth!

He requested waffles for breakfast, and hamburgers and French fries for supper!

We have a tradition with our kids that they get a "big person" Bible with their name on it once they learn to read well.  Myles was still using his Precious Moment's Bible that they all got at birth and was quite hard on it. :)  He has been reading his Bible and loves copying passages out of it.  We decided it was a good time to get it!  He was so proud and sat and read multiple chapters the night he got it. <3 br="" nbsp="">

I pray he will always treasure God's Word and live for Him all the days of his life!
