Malachi's Birthday Celebrations!

Malachi's birthday fell on a Sunday this year and we were heading out of town that day.  We had a family celebration on that Saturday instead.

Malachi picked Philly cheesesteak sandwiches for supper and pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting for dessert!

Madeline chopping vegetables for the salad.

My sweet 9 year old!

Malachi loves Legos.  He had a Lego balloon and Lego cake toppers.  McKenzie took pictures with her camera that I haven't gotten yet.  I'm sure hers are better than mine! :o)

Love this crew!

The expression on a child's face when they are being sung to on their birthday melts my heart!

One of his presents was a new BB gun.  He thought that was pretty cool!

I will post pictures from Myles' birthday next time!

Myles is 6!!!

Busy celebrating another birthday!
Myles Truth turned 6 years old today!

I asked him this morning if I could take his picture before church and he told me I made his brain hurt. :o)  He is such a sweet and funny little boy!  I could be writing things down all day that he says. He doesn't like when I raise my voice at all.  I always tell the boys that if they like when I say things sweetly that they need to listen to me the first time.  One day when he had not listened to me and I got "louder" he said,  "You don't have to get so voicey." :o)

The birthday kid always gets to pick their meal and dessert for their birthday.  This year when I asked him what he wanted he said,  "I want hotdogs and a black cake with chocolate chips on top.  Wouldn't that be beautiful mommy?"  He can be such a handful one minute and so endearing the next!

Myles at this age:

loves to play with his little brother Macheus

loves babies

would rather be outside than in

loves our farm animals

first boy in our family that has shown an interest in riding horses

gets filthy on a daily basis

headstrong

determined

smart

likes to do his school work

loves for me to read to him

LOVES trains!!!

loves his grandpa

likes to play dress up in his cowboy stuff

is a homebody

eats a lot!

favorite restaurant is Chick fil A

favorite toys are guns, balls, trains and sticks!

 When we named Myles we had settled on his middle name long before he was born, but didn't pick his first name until he got here.  We love the name "Truth" and have always prayed he would be a lover of God's truths!

I have lots of birthday pictures from both boys' birthdays that I will post another time!

Goodnight!

Happy Birthday to Malachi!

Nine years ago today, I gave birth to our fifth child (second son!)  He has been my biggest baby weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs 12 oz!  :o)

Malachi has brought much joy to our family  He was a handful as a little guy but is pretty easygoing  now.  He is really good at math, he loves science and he builds amazing creations with his Legos. He is the "leader of the pack" with the little boys.  He and Myles are good buddies.  They play hard outside together and usually get filthy! I hope they are always close!

My prayer for Malachi is that he will always seek the Lord and love Him with all of his heart.  I pray he will not be drawn to things of this world, will fear the Lord and want to please Him and not fear man.

"One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
 For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.

 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me." Psalm 27:4-7

I love you "Mal- Man"!

A day at the doctor

I recently took all three of the little boys to the doctor for check-ups.  McKenzie now lives in the town where our pediatrician is so she went along for the "fun"! :o)  I am such a germaphobe that I hate going and constantly yell at my kids to not touch anything!  We haven't been in quite a while, and I like to keep a good rapport with our doctor.

It was quite a zoo being crammed in the tiny room with three rambunctious little boys.  I kept thinking as noisy as they were that it would speed the doctor up, but no such luck! :o)
When Dr. S walked in the room Macheus put his hand up and said,  "You go!"  It is always funny to hear the answers the boys give him when he is asking them stuff.  Myles told him that he could read (which he cannot!)  He asked me how potty training was going with Macheus and I told him "it wasn't".  Thankfully he has known us for years and realizes we aren't total losers as parents! :o)

We came away with a clean bill of health, finding out that all three are still at the top of the charts for height and got to spend some time with my girl!
