Another Adventure

Last month we took another few days and went to Stone Mountain.  The weather wasn't nearly as pretty as it was the last time we went, but when Marc travels and we can go we go! :o)

Even with the fog and drizzle we hiked the mountain every day that we were there!

Nothing is better than the big outdoors for boys!  They NEED to move.... all the time!

Mariah loves to exercise so she was a good hiking partner.

They played in puddles all the way up the mountain!

Picnic at the playground.

I ran in the mornings while the kids did their school work and Marc was in meetings.  In the evening Marc wanted to go to the gym so I hit the machines.

More puddles...

We had a lake view from our room.

The fog was so dense that it was almost creepy!

We all enjoyed the hot tub!

There was an indoor pool but these crazy kids liked swimming outside better!

The deer are so tame out there.  All Marc could think about was hunting when he saw them. :o)

This one cracked me up.  They were hanging out in the manicured flowers and shrubbery.

Myles is such a trooper hiking.  He never once complained.

Running off his abundant energy!

Well, I just wanted these pictures stored on my blog!  They are not in order... but they are on here! :o)

It's a GRANDbaby!

McKenzie and Daniel are expecting their first child this summer!  We are all super excited!
I was able to go to her ultrasound with her and it was quite surreal to be at my midwife's office and my child be having an ultrasound done. The last time I was in that ultrasound room she was standing next to me while I had mine done (and that was just three years ago!:o) )  Macheus will be a very young uncle!  I love large families!!!

God is SO good!

The fruit of the womb is a reward." Psalm 127:3

Happy Birthday, to Marc!!!

We got back from the beach and it has been a whirlwind ever since!  We celebrated Marc's birthday this week!  I surprised him with dinner out and a play the weekend before his birthday.  We had so much fun!

On his actual birthday we were busy cooking for Thanksgiving!  We did have his favorite red velvet cake though!  McKenzie and Daniel were able to be with us, so we had lots of fun!

Thanksgiving day was absolutely perfect weather!  My sister and her family came down and brought my dad.  That night after we had eaten and everything was cleaned up us girls loaded up and went to Walmart.  None of us were going after any great deals (we were much too late for that anyway!), but it was fun to get out! These are all pictures from my phone.  I will upload my camera soon and post more from our Thanksgiving day!

Then the next day I went with my girls to shop all day!  I used to always go  Black Friday shopping with my mom and now I have kept the tradition with my girls. We never go early in the morning, but it is just fun to get out in the hustle and bustle. :o)

Well, I will save our best news for my next post!  I need to get to bed!

A little getaway

Last week we were able to escape reality for a few days.  Madeline got left behind last time so she got to go on this trip.  We took Macheus and Malachi with us too.  We went to St. Simons and stayed in a beautiful place right on the beach.  We arrived in the evening and this was the view from our balcony.

The weather could not have been more perfect!  It was in the seventies during the day and at night we were comfortable in a light sweater.  I do NOT like winter!  I am not one that likes to be "cozy" and sit inside by the fire sipping hot tea.  I would much rather be outside running, hiking, taking walks or digging in the dirt!  I really soaked up the sun knowing that when I got home it wouldn't be long before the colder temperatures arrived!

The kids did their school work in the morning and then we played all afternoon!

They enjoyed the giant sandbox by the pools.

I think Macheus got in the water more than any of us!

We always love walking the pier on St. Simons.

This bird was not the least bit scared of us.

I love lighthouses!

Bless her heart.... she rarely goes anywhere without one of her school books with her.  This was a much needed break for her though.  I think it was just mentally relaxing for her to get away.  She is wrapping up her second quarter of college!

Such a busy little boy!

Malachi loves building anything!  His grandpa is convinced he is going to be a brilliant architect one day! :o)

This was taken on one of my morning runs with my iPhone.  I didn't alter the picture at all!  It was really this gorgeous!

Madeline is so sweet and patient with her brothers.

Trying to focus on school work was a challenge when that was waiting on you!

Taking a drink break during our bike ride.

We biked all over the island!

I was riding along and kept feeling something hit my back.  He had fallen asleep and his helmet kept hitting me in the back. :o)

Our favorite eating spot on the island.... Iguanas!

I ran to the end of the island.  There were a few retired people scattered about, but I mostly had it to myself!

She is my child that looks the most like me. :o)

Our last day there I was sitting on the beach digging my toes in the sand and it hit me that Thanksgiving was the next week! I don't think I have ever been to the beach that time of year in my life.  It was so weird to get home and have to jump into "holiday" mode!

Tomorrow my girls and I will be in the kitchen all day long!  Looking forward to making more sweet memories with my family!
