Because the wedding reception was going to be outside at our home we began watching the weather ten days beforehand. I'll never forget Saturday morning, the weekend before the wedding, seeing 60% chance of showers for the 27th! I sat at the computer thinking to myself, "Do I tell McKenzie, or not!?" I decided to announce it to everyone so we could all be praying! All week long we watched. It went down to 30% by midweek, then down to 20%, then by Friday it was back up to 30%. We had tents being set up, portable potties being delivered, setting up tables and chairs. I was SO nervous! I also knew that if we backed out and moved it indoors that McKenzie would have been very disappointed. My sister and her family came down on Thursday to help finish up last minute stuff. Marc kept assuring me that "God's got it!" so we charged ahead with the plans.
It rained some on Thursday night and when we got up Friday morning we pretty much set up in a sprinkle. We prayed HARD!
It was all such a whirlwind and we went on very little sleep. Looking back, so much of it is a fog.
McKenzie was having a hard time eating much of anything the days before the wedding. She requested sherbet and ginger ale floats. :o)
When the porta potties were delivered they brought the wrong color! We were told we would get the larger off white "event" potties. (These things are important you know!) They brought green ones! McKenzie was upset but it ended up being better because it blended with the fir trees! We were cracking up because the man let her pick the fragrance of the potties! :o)
Rolling the spools to be used as tables. So glad we have these now. They make really cool tables for outdoor parties and the kids love playing on them!
The rehearsal night was cloudy but I don't think it rained that night. The pastor that performed the ceremony is the same one that married Marc and I 24 years ago, dedicated McKenzie at birth and baptized her. Pretty special!
Malachi was the ring bearer. He did such a good job! They had nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen! My sister was the director and she did a fabulous job! She had never done this before and having such a large wedding party was a challenge!
"Aunt Donna" has been such a big part of McKenzie's life. McKenzie spent every Wednesday night with her visiting and quilting. Donna started working on this beautiful quilt for her when McKenzie was only fifteen years old! This was extra special with my mom being gone. I know my mom would have been busy making things for McKenzie if she was still here
This pretty much sums up the way we were both feeling that day!
To be continued.........

We too watched the weather for days before. It sprinkled at the rehearsal the night before and lightly sprinkled as we drove there a few hours before the wedding, but the wedding and reception were beautiful. As we sat outside at the reception, we could see the rain across the way, but it never came near. I feel God smiled on us. So glad he smiled on you too and everything worked out. It looked beautiful.
Looking forward to more pictures!!!
