The BeachPart 1

Here are a few of the hundreds of pictures that we took while at the beach last week!

We decided to take a detour to NY and see the Statue of Liberty!  Haha... It is amazing the sights you see in small towns! :)

Whenever we travel we always stop for a picnic somewhere so the kids can run around!

The little guys helping themselves to their favorite.......... Ranger cookies!

Headed out to the beach for the first time.  Capturing Macheus' reaction.

He absolutely loved the water and had no fear at all.  The waves would knock him over and I would yank him up while he was laughing.

                                      The annual "line up".

The girls

Myles loves to swim and has no fear.

The locals told us that the Super Moon caused the beach to have this mud. The girls (and I won't mention a certain teenage boy that started it!) covered themselves in it.  Day two it was gone.  It is amazing how the weather (and moon) affects the ocean!

Summer Evenings

You just can't keep a little boy away from water!

He was so cute trying to drink it.

We just got back from spending a few days at the beach.  It was a business trip for Marc but the rest of us got to enjoy it.  We pretty much had the beach to ourselves so that was really nice!   I will post pictures later!

When we got home I immediately jumped back into "wedding mode". I can't believe it's just a couple of months away!  McKenzie is staying super busy, Matthew is working a lot and we will be starting our new school year soon!  We are hoping to take a family vacation soon.  It will be a good distraction from all that we have going on around here.  The big things are done (or we at least know what we are doing for them) for the wedding, but there are SO many details that still need to be done. I never dreamed planning a wedding could be so consuming........ and we are even trying to keep it pretty simple!

Headed to bed.  I'll post beach pictures soon!

Wedding Shower

I think I keep saying this on every post, but life is so busy right now!  I have wanted to post pictures from McKenzie's first bridal shower and haven't had a chance.  I  knew if I didn't hurry up and get them posted, I probably wouldn't ever get it done.

Several of her very special friends hosted a shower for her near a town where we used to live.  It was the same town that my parents lived in before my mom died and several of her friends came to the shower.  It was a very special day.

They did such a good job.  Everything looked really pretty and she got lots of nice things for her home!

These two ladies were two of my mom's best friends.

She won't be an "M" much longer.  Soon she will be a "G"!

McKenzie and Nikki.  Nikki is married to Daniel one of McKenzie's friends (who is the son of one of her dearest friends!)  When McKenzie first met Nikki she immediately loved her too!

Sisters.  I can't believe I didn't even get a picture of Mariah.  It was really hot outside that day and the heat kind of affected everyone.  Some of the pictures that I did take everyone looks a little wilted. :o)

This is "Aunt" Donna. She is one of McKenzie's best friends.  They spent countless hours quilting together and talking during McKenzie's teen years.

There were many friends from our old church.

Madeline

McKenzie and Becca.  They have been friends for many years!  Becca was married last year and she hosted the shower at her home.

Me and my girl. :o)

My sister and niece. Carrington is one of the bridesmaids and my sister is directing the wedding! I am so thankful for her help during this time, especially with my mom being gone.  At one point during the shower it got a little emotional.  My mom had bought a few things for McKenzie before she died and we brought them to the shower.  There was definitely a void

McKenzie and Daniel's cousin Ann.  McKenzie has been friends with her since she was eleven.

This was a pleasant surprise!  This is McKenzie with one of her childhood friends Rachel.  I met Rachel's mom at a La Leche League meeting when we were both pregnant. The girls came just a couple of weeks apart and were great friends for years.  It was kind of strange to see them all grown up together.

Well, I did it!  The shower is now documented on my blog.

Goodnight!

Airmail To The Moon

Today was to be a very busy day for the entire family.  Everyone was going to be going in different directions with lots of things on their "to do" list.  Then......... one broken down car changed everything.  Our productive day didn't turn out quite the way we planned.  I am always reminded of the verse "A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9

I was at home all day with the little boys.  Macheus is cutting a tooth (a molar!) and has been way out of sorts.  And Myles.......................  OH MY WORD!!  Let's just say the above picture sums up his day.  While standing in his "time out" he hollered at me to see if he could go play.  When I told him no  he responded with, "But I'm melting"  WHERE does a four year old (that doesn't watch television) come up with this stuff?

Later I was sitting on the couch with him scolding him for something else he had done.  He grabbed my cheeks with both of his hands and said,  "You are SO cute!"

We have a book called "Airmail To The Moon".  (If you haven't read it you need to!  It is cute!)  I told him he was making me nuts and that I was going to send him to the moon.  Later when I told him he couldn't eat something he wanted he said,  "You make me a moon and a nuts!"

                                                                  ( A tiny egg.)

This evening I just needed a break and I sent him upstairs to play by himself.  I was busy picking up the house and heard him singing hymns to the top of his lungs.  It's a good thing there are endearing moments like that or I might.......... send him airmail to the MOON!!!
