Happy 11th Birthday, Mariah!

Eleven years ago today we rang in the new year with a new baby girl.  I was in labor with her most of the day on New Year's Eve that year,  but she held off to shortly after midnight to have her own birthday.  Matthew turned seven that year and was really hoping that they would share a birthday.  I think now that they are older, they are glad they have their own day. :o)

Mariah is a fun little girl with quite a personality.  She has always said funny things, but doesn't like us laughing at her.  She is my "get it done" girl when we are in a pinch.  She loves drawing and painting and I think she has an artistic bent.  She is probably the prissiest of the girls but yet doesn't mind getting dirty.  She loves high-heels, perfume and make-up (all of which she can't wait until we let her wear!) but also loves riding the horse and doesn't mind doing the outside chores.

Mariah, I pray that the Lord  gives you wisdom, that you always have  a reverential fear of God, and a willing and obedient heart..

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit."  Jeremiah 17:7-8

My little girl who wants to grow before her time. I can't believe that you are 11. Enjoy the days of your youth for they are fleeting. Keep growing spiritually as well.

Love you,

Dad
