An evening....

walk.  Baby "L" loves to take walks in the evening, and the weather has been perfect for it!

This spring has been so perfect!  Plenty of rain for everything to be green and the flowers to bloom!  The skies have been beautiful and the temperatures perfect!

Gearing up for a very busy week!

Easter

Easter weekend was perfect weather!  It was slightly cool but the skies were blue and the sun was bright!  My mom always said no matter how early or late Easter falls.... you always need a sweater on Easter! :)

Saturday is when we usually color eggs, do Easter baskets and fix food!  I like for Sunday morning to be a s stress free as possible! (Is it ever stress free!?!  Sunday mornings are always so crazy!)

We have every color of egg layers right now and it was fun to see the way each color dyed.  The brown ones are my favorites!

Yep, even my "big kids" get a basket! Matthew's was filled with toiletries and some candy!  He appreciates those things now that he has to buy them himself!

Sweet little "Baby L's" basket!

McKenzie's family spent Easter with Daniel's family, so we only got a few pictures when they came later that day to egg hunt.  This was there little Easter present.  They both got a book and some organic bunny suckers! :)

Sunday morning.

Madeline is so sweet with her little brothers!  She really purposes to spend time with them.

Our five boys!  Makes me laugh that Marc thought Matthew was going to be his only son. :)

                                             Myles

                                                  Malachi

For Easter lunch we always fix what my mom fixed!  Fried chicken (I did cheat and let Publix fix that for me!), potato salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad, frozen fruit salad, deviled eggs, lemon pie, and chocolate layer torte!

Easter and springtime is my absolute favorite time of the year!  I wish the time would slow down!!!

“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'” Luke 24:6-7 Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Savannah

A few of us tagged along on another business trip to Savannah!  The weather was perfect and we stayed at one of our favorite hotels there!

There is a rooftop swimming pool that overlooks the Savannah river!  Macheus had lots of fun swimming!

Mariah and I had lots of fun relaxing!  :)

I love when one of my girls gets to travel with us!  Madeline stays so busy with school and her new job.  I don't know if I posted about what she is doing, but I will save that for another post!

One of the highlights for the younger kids is taking ferry boat rides across the river.  It was a little cool in the evening, so we went inside the boat instead of sitting at the front.

                                                     Dinner at Your Pie!

We love walking the squares and hanging out on benches!

Marc had a business dinner and they told us to bring the kids!  Haha.... all the school superintendents with the architecture firm and then us! :)  The boys did great though, and I think the people enjoyed seeing them.

Macheus walked in like he owned the place and struck up a conversation with one of the men.  I heard the man ask him what grade he was in and he said, "I think I'm in fifth."  LOL,,,,  He is technically in kindergarten, but we don't really officially start until fall!

The dinner was held at Vic's On The River!  If you ever go to Savannah I highly recommend it!  Their food is amazing!

This girl cracks me up!  She loves the hotel makeup removers.  She was trying to swipe some from the maid cart and I told her they would give her some if she'd ask.  She said, "No, that takes the fun out of it!"  She always makes me laugh! :)

Night swims are the best!

Such a fun city to explore!  Studying history is one of the main reasons we love Savannah!

I need to write about Savannah and what it means to our story with Baby "L" sometime.  It has a lot of neat significance.  This trip was no different!  As we were pulling out of the driveway we got an e-mail from the adoption coordinator with our paper work to officially transfer our home from a foster home to an adoptive home.  So. Slow...… but we are making progress!

Thursday night ramblings...

Spring has sprung.....

This picture was actually taken a couple of weeks ago.  It is amazing how fast things are changing around our little farm and how green the woods are now.  The boys (well, mostly Matt and Mal) got all of the garden beds cleaned out.  Malachi finally got them filled up with some early things.  We will harvest them until it gets hot and then we will plant squash, zucchini, tomatoes, and bell pepper.  Those are the things that grow the best, and I don't like to waste time and money on stuff that doesn't! :)

One afternoon most of the "big people" were gone and Macheus was bored.  He enjoys the simplest things and this popcorn occupied him for quite a while!  Not sure why he chose the front door as his spot to snack.  I think it was a little chilly out that day and he must have come back inside.

On this day it was actually hot!  So far this spring has been on the cooler side, but the skies have been so blue and the sun has been shining!  I can't complain!

Malachi found this little critter.

A month or so ago I took Madeline to see the Gaither's in concert!  It was so much fun!

Busy days.…..  Myles is wrapping up a lot of his school work.  I'm going to have to get creative with ways to occupy his time!  His school work hasn't been much of a challenge for him.  I will test all of the school age kids this spring, and I am really anxious to see how he does!

These two are quite the pair!  I stopped by McKenzie's house one afternoon to see the kids and ended up taking Elizabeth home with me to play for a bit.  I love that they live close enough to get to see them a lot!

After her bath she snuggled on the couch for a bit before her mommy came to get her.

I sure love this little girl!

I went to see the movie "Unplanned' with my oldest four kids.  It was a very heavy movie but I enjoyed the time with my "original four" as Matthew has dubbed them!

Well, these were just some random pictures from my phone.  Life is super busy but mostly good.  We are still living in limbo as far as "Baby L" is concerned.  I look forward to the day that I can share more, but for now please pray when you think of us!  It has been a very long and weary year!  I know the timing is all in the Lord's hands, but sometimes I just wish we were on the other side.
